2013 Dîner en Blanc Chicago, What a Success!!!

The Chicago celebration of the 25th anniversary of Dîner en Blanc (DeB), marked the second annual event thrown in the city and drew over 1,000 people to the often underutilized Pioneer Court Plaza located between the WGN, Chicago Tribune, and Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue. The DeB event was once again graced with a small miracle - the cloudy skies and rain that plagued the day parted just hours before the event to reveal a balmy, starry September night complete with a bright, white full moon - even the sky was celebrating!
Doubling in size for it's second Chicago event, attendees were entertained with French trained clowns, jugglers, contemporary French music, and an after party hosted at Le Bar in the Sofitel. Many foodies and fashionistas celebrated tradition by bringing their own table and home prepared picnics. For busy Chicagoans, catering was provided by LM Restaurant Group and included French inspired cuisine, paired elegantly with a selection of wines, all delivered in a picnic basket flown in from Paris.
A grand time was had by all!!!

Prior to his position at Blue Plate, Haracz spent 10 years at the Art Institute of Chicago, including as Chef De Partie to Chef Tony Mantuano for the acclaimed Terzo Piano Restaurant at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Chicago, June 29, 2023 – Le Dîner en Blanc-Chicago presents ‘Le retour.’ After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the elegant, pop-up urban picnic returns Thursday, August 17, 2023, at an unexpected and secret new location in the City of Chicago.
